My Clean Hands DIY Hand Care Course

Are you tired of red, irritated, dry, cracked hands from all that hand washing?

Are you over the toxic hand sanitizers?

Do you just want clean hands for yourself and your family, without the hurt?

Proper hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of pathogens and keep yourself and your loved ones healthy.

But most of the antibacterial hand soaps and hand sanitizers on the market contain harsh, drying, irritant, and even toxic ingredients that can do your hands–and your health–more harm than good.

Fortunately, it’s really easy, inexpensive, and FUN to make your own DIY hand care products that keep your hands clean, while keeping them soft, smooth, and protected at the same time.

About Create Your Skin Care Rachael Pontillo
Rachael Pontillo with DIY Hand Care Products

Hi there! I’m Rachael Pontillo. I’m a licensed aesthetician, health coach, herbalist, natural skincare formulator, and educator. I’m also a mom of two now teenage girls.

When my younger daughter was in kindergarten, I noticed that she kept coming home from school with dry, red, inflamed hands. While I was able to help her hands feel better with a soothing balm, every day she came home with hurting hands.

It wasn’t until one day, while volunteering in the classroom, I noticed that every child had hand sanitizer at their desks, which they were encouraged to use liberally. They were also encouraged to wash their hands with antibacterial soap constantly throughout the day.

These hand sanitizers and antibacterial soaps contained triclosan–a powerful antibacterial agent that was banned by the FDA in 2017 for use in consumer antiseptic washes (due to concerns of endocrine disruptive activity and drug resistance), but is still used in many personal care and household products. It turns out my daughter was having an irritant reaction to that ingredient, which was made worse by the constant washing.

I knew there had to be a better, safer, pain-free way to have clean hands, and keep my family healthy. That’s how I came up with the idea for the My Clean Hands Kit.
